The highly anticipated Boxing Day Card at Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre has been postponed.
It was dubbed ‘The Homecoming’ and was set to feature four professional fights and two amateur bouts with the highlight being the clash between overseas-based Barbadian Cobia ‘Soldier’ Breedy and Columbian Deivis Julio.
Matchbox Promotions announced on social media that they faced a few final obstacles that made them accept that in order to give the boxers and fans the best possible experience and meet all the contractual agreements, they must pivot and adjust with April 12, 2025, set aside as the new date for the Card.
With just a couple days to go before the scheduled showdown, Breedy told CBC Sports he is disappointed, but the situation was out of his control.
The 33-year-old said he had been working extremely hard preparing for the fight which would have been his first pro bout at home.
