Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley is leading a Barbados delegation at the ongoing 2024 Doha Forum in Qatar.
The December 7 to 8 event is a global platform for dialogue, bringing together leaders in policy to discuss critical challenges facing the world. and to build innovative and action-driven networks.
This year’s theme is “The Need for Innovation”.
The forum opened with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighting the need for innovative solutions for various global issues.
Ms. Mottley meanwhile, was among the panel for a discussion titled “China’s Role in a Rising Global South: Redefining the Future World Order”.
She suggests there’s an unconscious bias in some quarters and questioned if only the West has the right to define world order.
The speech was conveyed to the audience in Arabic as the Prime Minister spoke.
Ms Mottley says an inclusive approach is needed within the United Nations system, as the globe is witnessing the end of the current world order and the birth of a new one.
