The Ministry of Education has denounced a recent incident at the Workman’s Primary, during which a relative of a student entered the school unannounced and confronted members of staff.
It notes in a statement it does not tolerate any act of aggression towards its staff or students, and wants any potential grievances handled in a way which does not cause disruption.
The Ministry says it is continuing with its plans to implement a comprehensive safety and security policy.
It says beyond the deployment of additional resources, there will be clear guidelines for how members of the public are to seek permission to gain access to these compounds.
The Ministry is appealing to anyone who may need to visit a school, to make an appointment and walk with some form of identification upon arrival.
