Government clarifies plans to buy back bonds

Government has moved to clarify plans to buy back Government paper as part of its debt-for-climate swap.

Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Ryan Straughn, moved a resolution to start the process yesterday, which will involve Government buying back 600 million dollars in debt.

In another section of the media, it was reported the holders of series B and D bonds would be repaid in full as a result.

However, Mr. Straughn notes that report shared ahead of the planned reverse auction on Friday, is inaccurate.
