Employment Rights Tribunal to be a full-time tribunal

The Employment Rights Tribunal will be moving to a full-time operation by year-end. This is according to Minister of Labour, Social Security and Third Sector Colin Jordan who says the decision was made following consultation with key stakeholders. Minister Jordan made the announcement while delivering the feature address at the opening of the Regional Policy Meeting.

Opposition Leader seeks clarity on amendments to Bill

Opposition Leader Ralph Thorne has queried the neutralisation of the language in the amendments to the Sexual Offences Bill, seeking clarity on whether it extends to same sex unions. Mr. Thorne called on Government to genuinely act to protect Barbadian children from events that adversely influence what is right and wrong. He further welcomed efforts to address those who abuse technology to lure children. The Opposition Leader also weighed in on the abolishment of corroboration.
