Shaheens end day 2 at 212 for 9 against Windies

Mohammad Huraira’s fluent half-century stood out as Pakistan Shaheens ended day two at 212 for nine against the West Indies in their three-day warm-up match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium today. Huraira struck 13-fours in his knock of 74. Kevin Sinclair has 3 for 50. Earlier, resuming their first innings at 273 for seven, the Windies added 73 runs to finish at 346 for eight declared. Settlers book spots in BIM 10 finals

Settlers will be defending their BIM 10 cricket title after booking a place in tomorrow’s final with a seven-wicket win over Pelicans. Playing at Windward today in semifinal one, Pelicans battng first scored 109 for six, and Zachary McCaskie made 50. Settlers, in reply, led by Nicholas Kirton and Zachary Carter unbeaten on 37 and 40 respectively, reached the target on 111 for three with only one ball to spare. Warriors will oppose setters in that final after they were five-wicket winners over Titans. Kemar Smith steered his team to victory with a six off the final ball. They ended on 140 for 5 as they were chasing 137 for victory. Titans, batting first, put up 136 for four with Raymond Reifer not out on 68. In reply, Smith, who ended unbeaten on 29, was backed up by 28 from Yvan Grant and 30 from skipper Jonathan Carter. Matthew Jones took three for 17. The BIM 10 cricket final is tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Windward.
