Call for a music programme to be in all schools

Retired educator Alwin Adams suggests there must be a music education programme in all schools across the island. He says younger children in particular have a contribution to make to the cultural landscape of the country. Mr. Admas says from infancy, there should be facilities for children to express themselves in schools, with music studios being part of the school plans going forward. He was speaking as a guest on the Let’s Talk About It Radio programme on Q100.7 FM.

BAC endorses e-learning courses offered by NTI

The Barbados Accreditation Council is endorsing the e-learning courses in multiple sectors offered by the National Transformation Initiative. Today the two entities signed a memorandum of understanding to signal the beginning of an official partnership between the two organisations. The council’s Executive Director Lisa Gale says the MOU does not mean that the NTI’s courses are now accredited by the Council which has historically only acknowledged traditional forms of education. Director of the National Transformation Initiative, the Honourable Dr. Allyson Leacock says the partnership underscores the Accreditation Council’s plans to recognise non-traditional forms of education.
