Island’s latest road fatality identified

A 43-year-old woman who was killed during a road traffic collision has been identified as Tara Blackman. Deputy divisional Commander for the Northern Division, Acting Superintendent Roland Cobbler says the accident occurred about 3:30 p.m. along KNR husbands highway, at its junction with Chapel Street, Speightstown, St. Peter. He says the woman, who was the driver of the vehicle, collided with a utility pole and died at the scene. Meanwhile, cousin of the deceased Wendell McClean confirmed Tara Blackman had left work at Daryl Jordan Secondary School, and was on her way to collect her other son.

Green House Giants defends its title

Green House Giants have completed the three-peat at Lawrence T. Gay. Competing today in their athletics meet at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex, two-time champions Green amassed 543 points, with Red House Rockets 2nd 521 points, Yellow House Tigers third 480, and Blue House Panthers fourth with 453 points. CBC Damien Best was there for the sprints.
