The Eden Lodge Primary School has been temporarily closed yet again, due to a strong “chemical, oily” smell which left people complaining of itchy skin and burning eyes.
In a release, the Ministry of Education says there were attempts to relocate staff and students to another part of the school, however this was not ideal due to the area not having the capacity to house all of the students.
A Ministry official and the Principal Health Officer are at the school assisting with investigations.
Previously, health officials carried out investigations into the strong smell, but the source of the odour could not be found on the school premises.
The Ministry says it is awaiting a report on the latest findings to inform on the decision going forward.
