Thornhill wins gold at World Masters Athletics

Barbados won gold at the World Masters Athletics Championships in the United States.

Andrew Thornhill won the Men’s High Jump in the 40 to 44 age group in a new personal best clearance.

Competing today at the indoor meet in Alachua County in Florida, Thornhill’s winning jump was 1.92 metres. His personal best before that jump was 1.87.

Thornhill was head and shoulders above his competition as the silver medal went to Francois Kulik of Ireland with a leap of 1.85, and third place went to Napoleon Papp of Hungary with 1.80.
