Watersport operators on high alert due to sea conditions

Choppy sea conditions continue to affect western coastlines of Barbados stretching from Sherman’s St Lucy to Blackwoods Screw Dock in Bridgetown, leaving many watersport operators unable to go out to sea.

Owner of Shamon Too Glass Bottom Boat located at Folkestone Marine Park, award-winning chef Adrian Cumberbatch tells CBC News his vessel has not sailed in almost a week and booked tours had to be cancelled because of the sea conditions.

Mr. Cumberbatch says tourists are disappointed that they are unable to enjoy the ride at sea.

Several other operators are also reporting the rough seas have slowed down their operations at the peak of the winter season, while a few were seen riding the waves.
