Barbados & India share details about bilateral talks

Details have emerged of the outcome of bilateral talks between Barbados Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley and India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Those talks took place on the sidelines of the CARICOM-India Summit in Guyana.

In a post on social media, Ms. Mottley says the meeting focused on institutional reforms, economic collaboration, and the empowerment of the global south.

Key discussions included political support for reforms, potential collaborations in the pharmaceutical industry, and the idea of establishing a Caribbean bank.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs meanwhile says the high-level engagement provided an opportunity for both leaders to reaffirm and strengthen the bilateral relationship between India and Barbados.
