With an increase in the number of lightning and thunderstorms Barbados has been experiencing, Senior Meteorologist Tia Browne is urging Barbadians to pay attention to weather alerts and to be very mindful of that flash of bright light in particular. Our Rachelle Agard sat with Ms. Browne at the Barbados Meteorological Services and filed this report.

In an unprecedented move, much-needed financial assistance is being provided by Government for people with several types of disabilities. They now qualify for a non-contributory pension. Labour Minister Colin Jordan made the announcement, adding that civil society played an instrumental role in this development. Anesta Henry has the report.
