Barbados continues to press for adaptation finance

Barbados continues to press for a scaling up of adaptation finance taking its message to a pre-cop meeting in Baku, Azerbaijan. The meeting brought together ministers to discuss key political aspects of the negotiations, to find solutions to outstanding issues and to set the tone for the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference of Parties set for next month. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office with Responsibility for Culture, Senator Dr. Shantal Munro-Knight told the forum the right sizing of the financial architecture is required along with the global governance system. Minister Munro-Knight stressed the need for collaboration across ministries and climate budgeting.

Livestock farmers to see reduction in feed prices

Local livestock farmers should soon see a reduction in feed prices. Pinnacle Feeds has announced a three per cent decrease from the first of November. The announcement from Managing Director of Roberts Manufacturing and Pinnacle Feeds, Rakeesh Bernard. The Managing Director says while these reductions had not entirely offset the effects of the global grain price inflation that occurred in previous years, he was happy to see prices trending in a direction that would be welcomed by all stakeholders in the agricultural community.
