Authorities intend to double production on farm at Dodds Prison

Authorities intend to double production on the farm at Dodds Prison over the next six to eight months. Minister of Home Affairs and Information Wilfred Abrahams says this will begin immediately and be done in a phased approach. He was speaking following a tour of the farm at the St. Philip Prison. Superintendent of Prisons Decarlo Payne says this signals the beginning of a new dynamic programme for the farm expansion project.

UWI’s Faculty of Social Sciences marks its golden anniversary

The Faculty of Social Sciences at the UWI Cave Hill Campus marks its golden anniversary and as the largest faculty has been responsible for contributing to the workforce in Barbados and the region in a major way. The media launch today served as a celebration of the faculty’s rich history and immense contribution to education and the partnerships which brought the faculty to where it is presently.
