CBB Governor reports significant economic growth

Despite global economic uncertainties and the impact of Hurricane Beryl, Barbados’ economy grew by close to four percent for the first nine months of this year. Confirmation of this from Central Bank Governor, Dr. Kevin Greenidge, during the Bank’s latest review of the country’s economic performance. Sharika Griffith was there and filed this report.

New multi-storey condos coming to Bay Street

A new multi-storey condominium should open in Barbados in time for the 2025 winter tourist season. It’s Fort Carlisle Condominiums at Brownes Beach, Bay Street, St. Michael. Trevor Thorpe was on the construction site today and filed this report.

More investment for Barbados

Group Chief Executive Officer of Chukka Adventure Caribbean Mark Melville says the new cruise investment expected for the Bridgetown Port will motivate them to forward invest in Barbados. He says with adjustments to be made to the Port, they will begin investments now rather than wait until the work is done. Mr. Melville was speaking during the announcement of a new business partnership between his company and Hunte’s Gardens, which is expected to increase revenue and cruise tourism. He adds Chukka is successful because it feeds off of all channels including locals, resorts, villas, and the cruise industry.
