School closed for sanitization following foot-and-mouth case

There is one case of foot-and-mouth at a primary school in the City. This was confirmed by the Ministry of Health and Wellness, which reported that three others presented with rashes from the St. Ambrose Primary. The Ministry of Education advised the students in nursery and reception to remain home, so those areas of the school can be sanitised. Parents and guardians are asked to make the necessary arrangements for their children, as well as to monitor their children for any symptoms and present them immediately for medical treatment. The full statement from the Ministry on this matter follows: The Ministry of Health and Wellness has confirmed one case of foot and mouth disease, while three others presented with rashes from St. Ambrose Primary. It was advised that the students in nursery and reception remain home so those areas of the school can be sanitised. “Parents and guardians are asked to make the necessary arrangements for their children. Parents should also monitor their children for any symptoms and present them immediately for medical treatment.”
