New Zealand Women are T20 champions

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, CMC – New Zealand Women have won their first-ever ICC Women’s T20 World Cup trophy. This is after they defeated South African Women by 32 runs to claim the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup on Sunday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. SCORES NEW ZEALAND 158-5 in 20 overs (Amelia Kerr 43, Brooke Halliday 38, Suzie Bates 32, Maddy Green 12 not out; Nonkululeko Mlaba 2-31). SOUTH AFRICA 126-9 in 20 overs (Laura Wolvaardt 33, Tazmin Brits 17, Chloe Tryon 14, Annerie Dercksen 10; Amelia Kerr 3-24, Rosemary Mair 3-25).

Parkinson Memorial, St. Ambrose Primary reopen tomorrow 

Parkinson Memorial School is set to reopen tomorrow, Monday, October 21, 2024.  This was noted in a press release from the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training, which stated that “all major issues, including insect infestation, the furniture and spaces that were impacted have all been industrially cleaned”. It further states that the Reception and Nursery sections of the St. Ambrose Primary will also reopen on Monday. The full statement from the Ministry follows: “Parkinson Memorial School is set to reopen Monday, October 21, 2024.“The Management of the school reported all major issues, including insect infestation, the furniture and spaces that were impacted have all been industrially cleaned. Other areas that underwent some form of retrofitting have also been completed. The Board of Management has begun the process of filling outstanding vacancies at the school. The school looks forward to welcoming all students, teachers and staff on Monday morning.“Additionally, the Reception and Nursery sections reopen on Monday at St. Ambrose Primary, and the school looks forward to welcoming back their youngest students.”
