Agricultural producers hoping to form new linkages

In spite of a year marked by egg and chicken shortages, agricultural producers are optimistic about the sectors’ prospects, for the year ahead. Having met local demand for pork and poultry products in time for Christmas, they hope to form new linkages to ensure farmers see good returns on their investment year-round. Taximen reporting a good winter tourist season

Taximen are reporting a good winter tourist season so far. The island welcomed three cruise liners yesterday and one today. Some industry stakeholders have upgraded to multi-purpose vehicles to accommodate the rise in numbers. However, Nicholai Bayley says things started slowly. He says visitors arrive with their plans already in place for specific places. As well as wanting to see the island. Taximan Shawn Griffith says he is happy with the way the season has started and is thankful. He also echoed similar sentiments.

Salvation Army: Continue to support Christmas Appeal

The Salvation Army is appealing to corporate Barbados and citizens to continue to contribute to its 2024 Christmas Appeal. Divisional Business Manager Sherma Evelyn tells CBC News the Army is moving closer to the $850,000 target it wants to raise this year. Ms. Evelyn is issuing the reminder that the money raised through the Appeal plays a major role in helping the non-profit organisation to fund its programmes throughout the year. She says every year the programmes grow to meet the needs of the increasing number of Barbadians reaching out for help.
