BTMI working to boost airlift

The Barbados Tourism Marketing Incorporated is working to boost airlift from European and other emerging markets. The announcement from Chief Executive Officer Andrea Franklin comes after recent news of a significant increase in airlift from the US market. Ms. Franklin says BTMI teams are working to build capacity into Barbados. She was a guest on a special Tourism Week edition of Mornin’ Barbados. Meanwhile, Chairman of the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association, Javon Griffith suggests the expansion into more markets and key sectors will ensure the island is a year-round destination.

7th Chinese medical team to assist QEH

The seventh medical team from China has arrived on the island to assist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The medical team comprises 13 persons. They were welcomed by a Barbados delegation led by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Davidson Ishmael, and China’s Ambassador to Barbados, Yan Xiusheng. Fuel dock coming to Shallow Draught Marina

Fisherfolk will soon have a fuel dock in the Shallow Draught Marina. This from Minister of Tourism and International Transport Ian Gooding-Edghill. He says with the fuel dock, fisherfolk will not have to travel north to the Port St. Charles area.
