Quest to keep the nation’s children hydrated

Corporate Barbados continues to partner with Hydrate Barbados on its quest to keep the nation’s children hydrated. Through its Hydrate Caribbean programme, free water stations are being installed at schools across the island. The latest institution to benefit is the St Mary’s School, thanks to Farmers Choice. Marketing Coordinator at HIPAC Limited, Kitisheanna Williams says the company is proud to be on board. Principal Grace Wickham welcomed the donation.

74-year-old charged with murder

The Police’s Criminal Investigations Department (Southern Division), has formally charged Whitfield Rudolph Thomas of Emerald Park West, St. Philip. The 74-year-old is being charged with the murder of Daphne Thomas on September 20, 2024, while at Emerald Park West, St. Philip. Thomas is scheduled to appear before Magistrate Joyann Clarke of the District ‘C’ Magistrate’s Court today, Monday, September 30, 2024.

Jamaica: Prisoner dies at hospital

KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – The Independent Commission of Investigations has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 57-year-old prison inmate, who died at the hospital on Sunday, several days after he had been found unresponsive in his cell. Police confirmed that Patrick Perry had been taken to the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) on September 21, where doctors found that he had extensive injuries to the ribs, lungs and head as well as a laceration to the kidney. Media reports said that earlier this month, Perry had been found unresponsive in his cell and taken to the Annotto Bay Hospital. He was later admitted to the KPH Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where he died on Sunday. Police said that the Independent Commission of Investigations has since launched an investigation into the matter.
