A 54-year-old man has been remanded to prison, following a court appearance in connection with the murder of two men. The Major Crime Unit of the Barbados Police Service (TBPS) arrested and formally charged Peter Terrence Louis Barton of Sandbox Ave, Bayville for the following offences: ⦁ Murder – of Randy Brathwaite between June 27, 2023 and December 5, 2024⦁ Murder – of Junior Taitt between June 27, 2023 and December 5, 2024 Barton appeared before Magistrate Joyanne Clarke in the District ‘C’ Court located at Oistins Magistrate’s Court Complex on December 24, 2024. He has been remanded to the Barbados Prison Service (Dodds) until Monday, January 13, 2025.

The Barbados Police Service (TBPS) is asking for the public’s help in locating 27-year-old Taquan Emmanuel Reid, alias ‘Quando’, who is wanted for questioning in connection with serious criminal matters. Reid, whose last known address is Wilkinson Road, Richmond, St. Michael, is considered to be armed and dangerous and the public is advised to exercise caution. He is approximately five feet six inches tall, of dark complexion and is slim built. Taquan Emmanuel Reid is advised he can present himself to the Criminal Investigations Department of the Black Rock Police Station located at Eagle Hall, St. Michael accompanied by an attorney of his choice. Anyone who may know the whereabouts of Taquan Emmanuel Reid, is asked to contact C.I.D. personnel at the Black Rock Police Station at telephone numbers 417-7500 or 417-7501, Police Emergency at 211, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 or the nearest police station. Members of the public are also reminded it is a serious offence to harbour or assist wanted individuals and anyone caught committing this offence can be prosecuted.

Police investigations are ongoing into a fatal shooting on Christmas Eve, which claimed the life of a 36-year-old man. The deceased has been identified as Jason Lynch of Chapel Gap, Spooner’s Hill, St. Michael. Police say they received a report of the incident around 7:15 p.m. On responding to the scene, their investigations revealed that Lynch was outside of an establishment having ordered food, when he was chased by two men. A series of gun shots were heard and he was seen lying on the ground. Lynch was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are appealing to anyone who can provide any information on this incident, to contact the Criminal Investigations Department (District ‘A’), District ‘A’ Police Station at 430-7242 or 430-7246, Police emergency at 211, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIPS (8477) or any other police station.
