UWI, Chargers & Starz unbeaten in volleyball knockout

UWI Blackbirds and Chargers are undefeated in the Women’s draw, while Starz Volleyball Club is also unbeaten with a 2-0 record in the Men, as the Goddard Enterprises Limited Senior Volleyball Knockout went into night #2 at the Wildey Gym. UWI took care of Warrens, Chargers did likewise to Burger King Clapham Toners, while Starz got the better of Police Sports Club.

New technology to help track students’ development

Government is embracing new technology to better track the development of students as well as gauge the skill level of teachers within the classrooms setting. This from Minister of Education, Technological and Vocational Training Kay McConney. She says the introduction of this new data analytics technology from Google should make for better monitoring to ensure targetted interventions by the Ministry are attained. Minister McConney made the remarks today during the launch of Google Workspace for Education Plus in Barbados. She described the technology as a game changer, noting it would help bridge the gap between online and classroom learning.

More support in fight against transnational organised crime

Barbados and the region are getting much-needed help in the fight against transnational organised crime and illicit firearms. The assistance is coming from Interpol and CARICOM IMPACS. Some of the plans are being discussed at the 8th Edition of the Dialogue on an effective multilateral policing architecture against global threat, under the theme of an “Integrated Security Architecture – Multilateral Action for a Safer World”. Rachelle Agard reports.
