QEH’s Chief Operations Officer resigns

The Chief Operations Officer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Dr. Christine Greenidge has resigned. This was confirmed today in a memo sent to all staff by the Chief Executive Officer Neil Clark. The memorandum said that she had decided to step down from her role and had been an integral part of the QEH for nearly three years. The letter also read that she stepped in as acting Chief Executive Officer leading the institution through several key initiatives. The CEO also pointed out that over the coming weeks, they will be working with her for a seamless transition. Dr. Greenidge joined the QEH on February 14, 2022, and has a long career in nursing and a doctorate in health administration.

Bridgetown Initiative 3.0 to be released this week

Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley believes significant change has been made since proposing the Bridgetown Initiative, and according to her, Bridgetown 3.0 will be released this week. Ms. Mottley is among several Caribbean and world leaders in New York for the United Nations General Assembly. During an SDG Lounge session at UN Headquarters, the Barbadian leader provided insight into Bridgetown 3.0.

BTMI working to boost airlift

The Barbados Tourism Marketing Incorporated is working to boost airlift from European and other emerging markets. The announcement from Chief Executive Officer Andrea Franklin comes after recent news of a significant increase in airlift from the US market. Ms. Franklin says BTMI teams are working to build capacity into Barbados. She was a guest on a special Tourism Week edition of Mornin’ Barbados. Meanwhile, Chairman of the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association, Javon Griffith suggests the expansion into more markets and key sectors will ensure the island is a year-round destination.
