MP confident St. Lucy has set high standard for We Gatherin’

With St. Lucy being the starting point for We Gatherin’, MP, Peter Phillips is confident the parish has set a high standard with the hosting of its events for January. He says activities were created not only to appeal to residents but to Barbadians in general and those who have returned home. He says there’s been tremendous changes in St. Lucy over the years. Mr. Philips was a guest on CBC TV8’s Mornin’ Barbados.

School strengthening its agricultural science programme

At a time when Barbados is focusing on boosting food security, Grantley Adams Memorial School is strengthening its agricultural science programme. Principal Major Andrew Skeete says students enrolled in the programme are performing well. He says management is in the process of completing the installation of an aquaponics system. Major Skeete spoke to members of the media about the programme.

Need for more cyber security programmes in schools

A leading cyber security expert is calling for more programmes surrounding the subject area to be implemented in the school’s curriculum. The call from President of Digital Technologies and Services LLC Neil Hinds. Mr. Hinds, who has over 20 years of experience in the field, says five years ago he suggested that similar programmes be implemented in schools, but it is yet to be done. He was speaking during the Caribbean Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity Summit 2025.
